great site why cant junior wainman be up their on the voting

My reply
Possibly 2 reasons - 1] The people who've been hitting refresh for multi-votes for Dave Chisholm and Fred Mitchell have distorted the %s; 2] As the current top driver he's not reached the 'legendary status' in the memory like Smithy and Dave Chisholm. |

My reply
I remember Roy Page well - somewhere I have some images, I was convinced there was one on the site but I can't see it. For video/ DVD have a word with Les Cotton at http://home.clara.net/norden/lescotton/cd.htm
He has a selection covering that era and reasonably priced too. Also I've seen some screensport stuff at http://stox.never-enough.co.uk/.
Let me know how you get on - I'm saving up at the moment! |

I am most disapointed to see that George Ansell 1967 world Champion KING OF TAR was not included in your vote for who was the Best ever Driver well George you know you are the BEST and always will be the BEST especially at HARRINGAY and it is great to still be in touch with you. God Bless you George and Nan

My reply
Ian, totally agree George was an exceptional tarmac driver winning the first world championship that I saw - in fact my first ever non Aycliffe meeting. Unfortunately my 'oversight' has as much to do with the poll suppliers only allowing my 10 options and it was difficult enough to limit myself to 10 all time greats. Sorry I'll try to do better with my next question! Thanks for the message. |
